This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on our website. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information generally.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site recognize your device and store information about your preferences or past actions. Similar technologies — local storage, and pixels or beacons embedded in a page or an email — do comparable things, and this policy covers them too.

Cookies can be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which stay on your device until they expire or you remove them.

Categories of Cookies We Use

  • Strictly Necessary Required for the website to work. They cover core functions such as security, network management, load balancing and accessibility, and remembering your light or dark theme preference. These cannot be switched off through a consent control, because the site cannot function without them.

  • Functional Remember choices you make so you do not have to make them again — your theme, and any preference you set on a form. Losing these degrades your experience but not the site's operation.

  • Analytics Help us understand how visitors find and move through the site, in aggregate, so we can tell which pages are useful. [Confirm the actual tool in use today — Google Analytics, PostHog, Mixpanel, Vercel Analytics, or none — and name it here, along with whether it is configured cookieless.] Until that is confirmed, this section describes a category rather than a deployed tool, and should not be read as a statement that analytics cookies are currently set.

  • Marketing [Confirm whether any advertising or conversion pixels run on this site today — for example Meta, LinkedIn or Google Ads. If none do, this section must say so explicitly: "We run no marketing or advertising cookies." Describing an unused category as though it were active is a false disclosure, in the direction that costs us trust.]

Why We Use Them

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site secure and working, to remember your preferences, and — subject to the confirmations above — to understand in aggregate which pages people find useful so we can improve them. We do not use them to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell the information they collect.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies may be set by providers we use rather than by us directly — for example an analytics provider, or the platform that hosts this site. Where that is the case, the provider's own privacy notice governs what it does with the data.

Your Choices

  • Consent banner. [Confirm whether a consent banner exists today or is planned, and what it controls. Quebec's Law 25 requires consent for non-essential cookies, and requires that technologies which identify, locate or profile a user be deactivated by default — so if no banner runs yet, either no non-essential cookies may be set, or the banner is a prerequisite to setting them. This needs settling rather than describing.]

  • Browser controls. Most web browsers let you accept or reject cookies, notify you when one is set, and delete cookies manually or automatically. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site.

  • Opting out of analytics. Where an analytics provider offers its own opt-out, we will link it here once the provider is confirmed. [Pending the analytics confirmation above.]

  • Do Not Track. [Confirm whether this site honours a browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. State the answer plainly either way — "we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals" is a normal and acceptable disclosure; silence is not.]
